Electronic clutter

Electronics all have chargers, cables and accessories. They are great when you are currently using them, but when you get a new phone do you keep the charger? When you get a new router do you keep all the ether net cables.
It is hard to get rid of the old one thinking it is a great back up incase the new one fails. If it fails will you really go back to the old one or will you be able to find the old one if you needed to?
Most likely I would try to take the new one back or get another new one.

Let it go!

Children's memories

How many bins does it take to hold all the long term storage of childhood memories and collections?

Where should a child's memories be stored? the basement or in their own space?

Who decides what memories are kept and what can be given away.

Out Bin

You know how you organize things and there are always those extra couple of things that you know you want to keep but they don't have a home yet?

1. Those things that your not sure if you want to keep them, so I guess I'll keep them for a little while longer.
2. I want to get this out of that room but what am I going to do with it?
3. This box of stuff needs to be packed for long term storage.
4. Mom I don't want this... or do I?

All of these things find their way into our master bedroom. A pile that once I get a hold of it and put it away give it away or toss it, and it is finally gone... A new pile emerges.
Why do I let our room become this sorting area?
I need to learn to say no to this insane idea that it is ok to let it be there.... for an hour a day a week a month.

Mental note: Learn to say "No!"

Garage

Working on the garage storage.

Identify things to throw away and give away.
Load van with give away... take to good will.

Gather sorting bins/boxes
Sort like items. Identify duplicates, check expiration dates.
Plan shelving, containers with lids.
 - try to repurpose bids and boxes first

Label bin/box
put items less used on higher shelves painting supplies, plumbing/electrical, humidifier, heater,
lower shelves for every day use - car washing bucket (containing: car wash, sponges, &drying cloth.)
Rag box,
middle shelf : bug spray, grass killer, weed killer, car stuff (oil, break fluid, coolant, wiper fluid)
